Why We Made the Change

At Workplace Defender, real-world feedback drives product innovation. During a recent project in the food industry, our team identified hygiene and transport challenges in our existing guardrail system. Specifically:

• The open-top design was capturing food particles, creating potential hygiene and contamination risks.
• The fixed-angle structure limited flexibility and made the system harder to transport and install in varied environments.
• Bolt exposure and attachment points to the saddle rail left rough surfaces that were harder to clean and posed minor safety issues.

What’s New

We’ve engineered a new version of our guardrail that is more hygienic, adjustable, and easy to install—without compromising strength or compliance:

✅ Sliding Angle Mechanism
Now allows the guardrail to be easily transported flat and adjusted on-site to suit a variety of roof angles and configurations.

✅ Top Cap Enclosure
A new cap now covers the joint where the saddle connects to the rail—eliminating open areas where debris or food particles could collect.

✅ Concealed Bolt Covering
A redesigned finish over the saddle bolts improves hygiene by creating a smooth, easy-to-clean surface and enhancing overall safety.

The Outcome

The improved guardrail system is already being adopted by clients in food processing facilities where hygiene is critical, and also appreciated by installers for its transport efficiency and on-site adaptability.
